Caleb Chapman’s Crescent Super Band, or simply Crescent Super Band, is a 15x DownBeat-winning 20-piece Jazz ensemble based in Utah and led by Caleb Chapman. Formed in 2001, the group comprises many of the nation’s most acclaimed jazz musicians aged 15–18 , and has to date released five albums under Big Swing Face Records, R Legacy Entertainment, and Ear Up Records.
With a standard big band instrumentation of trumpets, trombones, saxophones, guitar, piano, bass, and drums, the group also often features vocalists. Consistently been named one of the best big bands in the world by DownBeat Magazine, its primary mission is to reinvent the Great American Songbook by performing hip arrangements of popular songs of the past and present.
