Long before drum & bass and jungle became his primary territory, DJ Intel was immersed in the foundations of Hip Hop and turntablism. Growing up near Chicago, he started cutting on his brother’s turntables in the ’90s, eventually becoming a fixture in Midwest house parties, B-boy battles, and underground DJ culture.

That foundation still drives his sound today.

Intel’s sets live firmly in the bass-heavy end of the spectrum, moving through drum & bass, jungle, breaks, and other sounds built around heavy low end, breakbeats, and relentless energy. Years of turntablism inform a style that is technical without losing the raw, spontaneous feel of a proper DJ set.

He has shared lineups with some of the biggest names across bass music and Hip Hop, including Dieselboy, Craze, Flowdan, Hedex, DJ Qbert, Lupe Fiasco, Wu-Tang Clan, Amon Tobin, Nero, and The Prodigy.

A veteran of festivals including Lollapalooza, Whatever, USA, Spring Awakening, and SXSW, Intel returned to North Coast Music Festival in 2026. His mixes have also reached the airwaves through a featured guest mix on LL COOL J’s Rock The Bells Radio.

From Chicago’s B-boy battles to modern jungle and D&B dance floors, DJ Intel brings a deep-rooted Hip Hop mentality, battle-tested turntablism, and a serious appreciation for bass culture to every session.
