5/5 – Michael Honan absolutely crushed it at The Mac's! If you haven't caught one of Michael’s monthly Friday night gigs at The Mac’s Hotel in Portland yet, you are seriously missing out and need to fix that immediately! The vibe in the front bar was unreal. Michael is originally from just down the road in Warrnambool, but after spending time writing tunes over in Nashville, he sounds completely next level. He threw in some classic Keith Urban and Alan Jackson covers that had everyone up dancing. When he played his new single, Runnin' Out of Reasons, more people flocked to the dance floor. Michael Honan is the real deal and proves exactly why he is rapidly ascending the ranks of Australian country music. The Mac’s is always a cracking spot for a weekend drink, but having live music of this calibre makes it ten times better. Cold drinks, great pub food, and world-class country music right on our doorstep—you can’t ask for much more than that. Do yourself a favour and come to his next gig on Friday 26 June 2026 at 8:00pm! @michaelhonan.music michaelhonan.com

Michael Honan

Growing up in a country music household in Warrnambool, Victoria, Michael picked up the guitar at six. Finding his voice in writing and recording music from his bedroom, he built support from the rural community in South-West Victoria.

Since then, Michael’s journey from recording in the bedroom to the main stage has included performances at Ridin’ Hearts, CMC Rocks, BIG SOUND, Groundwater Country Music Festival, and Lasso Country Music Festival. During CMA Fest in Nashville, he also performed at the Country Goes Global showcase at Luke Combs’ Category 10.
