Killgurls, a Sacramento-based band formed in 2024, embodies Riot Grrrl rock with outlandish lyrics and moody noise paired with pretty melodies. The band began when Aidan Jacques and Vanna Rose discovered Stella Bertelli and Stephen McCurry in Sacramento. Stella and Stephen, who had previously played together, caught the eye of Aidan and Vanna, leading them to form Killgurls in January 2024. They use simple yet powerful musical arrangements with three-chord progressions and single-string riffs. Their debut single "Cradle" showcases their aggressive punk rock energy and melodic sensibility.
