Berlin-based harmonica player and composer Ariel Bart is redefining the role of the chromatic harmonica in contemporary jazz. Through original compositions that blend lyrical improvisation with influences from Middle Eastern music, classical traditions, and modern jazz, she creates an intimate, cinematic sound that is uniquely her own.
Her latest album, After Silence (2025), features her trio with cello and piano and has been praised for its emotional depth and distinctive instrumentation. Bart has performed at festivals and venues across Europe, Australia, and beyond, including Jazzahead!, Éclats d'Email, and FreeSpace Jazz Festival, and has collaborated with artists such as William Parker, Yemen Blues, and Olivia Trummer.
