Charlotte Morris について

Charlotte Morris
Charlotte Morris
Charlotte Morris is a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter blending folk and Americana with roots in classical music, musical theatre, and the folk revival movement of the 1960s and 70s. Known for her emotionally rich storytelling and soaring vocals, Charlotte’s songs invite listeners into deeply personal moments while exploring identity, relationships, memory, and the complicated spaces in between. Her live performances feel less like a concert and more like a conversation — intimate, authentic, and often leaving audiences laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next.

Growing up outside of Philadelphia, Charlotte discovered music early and never really let go of it. She began studying violin at age four, later teaching herself guitar, piano, ukulele, mandolin, and more, while turning seriously to songwriting at age twelve. Raised on artists like Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Simon & Garfunkel, Peter, Paul & Mary, and later influenced by songwriters including Brandi Carlile, Liz Longley, Sara Bareilles, and The Chicks, Charlotte developed a sound that bridges contemporary songwriting with timeless folk traditions.

After studying Theatre with minors in Musical Theatre, Business, and Marketing at Northwestern University, Charlotte worked in performance throughout New York City and nationally. In 2018, she joined Lonesome Traveler, a national concert tour celebrating the history of American folk music, where she shared stages with artists including Peter Yarrow and Noel Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul & Mary, Tom Chapin, and George Grove of The Kingston Trio. In 2021, Charlotte relocated to Nashville to pursue songwriting full time.

Charlotte has released numerous projects, including To New York, with love (2018), Sputnik (2019), Songs for My Next Ex (2020), Wild Child (2023), and most recently, both sides (2025). While based in Nashville, she was selected as one of sixteen writers nationwide for the 2021 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project and continued developing her voice as both an artist and storyteller.

Following a 36-date North American tour in 2024 and a 25-date independent tour across the Eastern and Midwestern United States in 2025, Charlotte returned to Philadelphia and entered a new chapter rooted in intentional touring, independent artistry, and reconnecting with the folk communities that first shaped her. Recent recognition includes winning the 2025 Rose Garden Coffeehouse Songwriting Competition and being selected as a finalist and performer in the Kerrville Folk Festival’s 2026 New Folk Competition.

When she’s not writing, recording, or touring, Charlotte can usually be found traveling in her converted van with her pups, binge-reading, or working through the daily crossword.
