Mean jesus

Mean Jesus is a Virginia hardcore band formed in 2020, delivering a blend of crossover aggression and melodic urgency rooted in the region’s long tradition of heavy music. Since adding vocalist Ian in 2023, the band has sharpened its sound with direct songwriting, emotional weight, and a relentless live presence.

Their newest single, “Rust Free,” explores the fallout of addiction and the people left dealing with its consequences. The track was recorded at Vox Studios in Virginia Beach and serves as the first preview of a forthcoming EP that will also include rerecorded versions of earlier songs “Chains” and “Teeth.”

Mean Jesus has built momentum through regional touring and high-energy performances, sharing stages with bands like Suicidal Tendencies and Obituary. The band has also appeared at notable festivals including The Fest, and MACROCK.

With new music on the way and a growing presence in Virginia’s thriving hardcore scene, Mean Jesus continues to push forward with uncompromising intensity.
