Trainman blues is the brainchild of Irish blues artist Richard Farrell and Danish bass player and producer Laust "Krudtmejer" Nielsen. Their sound takes inspiration from the raw and roots style blues before it developed into rock'n'roll. Fast forwarded 50 years, combining the old school sound with modern production techniques, and now you have the Trainman Blues sound. They have recently written, produced and recorded songs together over the last year and they released their debut album on the 15th March 2018.


Richard Farrell is an Irish man who has found his spiritual home in blues music, he breathes, sleeps and sings the blues, it is second nature to him. From the chugging sounds of the train to the warbling voices of the cotton pickers and gospel singers, Richard and his band encompass a wide sound. He sings with guts and all heart, playing a a hollow body guitar in a finger style manner. Laust "Krudtmejer" Nielsen is a Danish bass player and producer, having played with a wide number of Danish and international blues and reggae artists, known for planting delicate and warm bass lines with ease and precision. Laust has composed and produced the songs for Trainman Blues debut album, with Richard as song writer and co-composer for the upcoming album.



For live performances, blues aficionado Ronni Boysen commands and weaves powerful riffs and solos on the guitar, playing with the likes of Mud Morganfield, and James Harman, his tastefulness for blues reaches beyond the shores of Denmark, and on the drums is Thomas Crawfurd, a melodic and thoughtful drummer, who has a finely tuned ear for creating beautifully layered, yet simple textures, he also plays with Fried Okra band and also has played with the likes of Gene Taylor ...
