We are an Ipswich based Funk, R&B, Soul & Blues Band. Our highly charged set covers a wide range of music, including songs by Wilson Pickett, Stevie Wonder, Otis Redding, Booker T & The MG's, Spencer Davis Group, Chris Farlowe, Eric Burdon & War and many more to mention.
The Funk Stax Lightning Band was formed by Dave Middleton & Alan Webb in July 2015 through a love of both the music and era. The band has grown over the past year and is now a fully fledged Funk, Soul & Blues Band. Funk Stax Lightning draw inspiration from the Funk, R&B, Soul & Blues artists from the 1960s and early 70s.

Backed by a talented line-up of musicians, the band brings passion to your favourite Funk, RnB, Soul and Blues classic floor fillers. We are a band, that loves the music we play, and we will entertain and never fail to please with our rich pulsating Hammond sound and deep heavy bass lines.

With a large repertoire of popular soul & funk hits from the 60’s & 70’s there’s something for everyone. The Funk Stax Lightning Band come fully equipped and ready to go with our own PA and lighting rig.
We are available for Pubs, Clubs, Corporate Events, Private Functions, & Festivals.
