Nachdem sie den Namen Kollektiv Ost gegen Ende 2003 zunächst als Synonym für untergründige Tanzvergnügungen nutzten, steht er heute für die musikalische Wochenendbeziehung der beiden. „Wochenendbeziehung“ deshalb, weil es Marcel schon vor einiger Zeit in die deutsche Hauptstadt zog, während Sandro nach wie vor in seiner Heimat weilt. Die räumliche Entfernung ist jedoch geradezu von Vorteil für das sympathisch- durchgeknallte Duo: Während der eine metropolitische Einflüsse und Ideen aufsaugt, nutzt der andere die Ruhe und Inspiration der Natur, so dass sich beide in einer ziemlich einzigartigen Auswahl zwingender Tech House Rhythmen ergänzen. Diese Qualität äußert sich nicht nur in ihren engagierten DJ Sets, sondern ist auch in den eigenen Produktionen hörbar. Die Zusammenkünfte der musikalischen Wochenendbeziehung finden übrigens meist in Clubs statt, wo ihre musikalischen Ergüsse auf der Tanzfläche regelmäßig für kollektives Durchdrehen verantwortlich sind.
