Shaun is a highly skilled performer and technically advanced musician with both strong musiclogical and pedagogical knowledge, gained through completion of a third level honours degree in Music, specializing in performance and musicology, coupled with 15 years practical experience with the instrument. Shaun has studied for a number of years with Michael O’Toole, along with attending masterclasses by various international artists including: Xufei Yang, John Feeley, and Clive Carroll. As a continuing student of the instrument and performer Shaun is in a perfect position to aid prospective students in choosing the right musical path for them, along with tailoring a syllabus to their specific needs and desires. His previous studies with the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music, music degree in Waterford Institute of Technology, and continuing work on a fellowship for Trinity College London and a Masters degree in performance have given him a broad knowledge of the prescribed courses of study for the instrument. Shaun is highly skilled in multiple genres of music, with a particular interest in rock/popular music and classical guitar. He also offers numerous contacts within a third level setting to help interested parties in applying, and studying at a third level institute. Along side this he is also familiar with the syllabi for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) and Trinity College London (TCL).
