Contraband began in August 2009. Since then, they have developed a unique fusion of Ska and Reggae reminiscent of the Skatalites with explorations into Afrobeat and Jazz. In 2013 Contraband released their EP, Get It, before embarking their first tour of the southwest, going through California, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico that summer. They returned to Santa Fe in early November after receiving high praise for their performance over the summer.
