BLVK H3RO (pronounced Black Hero) is a Jamaican artist redefining reggae for a new
generation. A 2023 GRAMMY nominee for Best Global Music Performance, he’s known for his
genre-blending sound, electrifying live shows, and collaborations with icons like Bunny Wailer,
UB40, Stonebwoy, and Skillibeng. Rooted in Jamaica but globally minded, H3RO bridges
reggae, Afro-influences, and forward-thinking production with a message of upliftment and
evolution. Raised in Portmore, Jamaica, he emerged during the conscious reggae resurgence inspired by artists like Chronixx and Protoje. After overcoming homelessness to pursue music full-time, he built momentum from his breakout THC: The H3rb Connoisseur EP to his debut album The
Immortal Steppa, eventually partnering with Delicious Vinyl Island, the Caribbean imprint of
Delicious Vinyl.His 2023 album On A Mission marked a creative high point, while his GRAMMY-nominatedfeature on Rocky Dawuni’s “Neva Bow Down” and viral “Hotstepper” remake with Trinix (40M+streams) expanded his global reach. A transformative Africa tour and standout performance atBHIM Festival fueled his next chapter, WINNAH. In 2025, BLVK H3RO received the Dennis Brown Award for Most Promising Entertainer at the International Reggae & World Music Awards and a Caribbean Music Awards nomination for Best New Artist.
