His collaborative single “Lion Nation” with Sri Lankan artist Iraj was the official theme song of the 2012 Cricket World Cup. Six months later, MARKIA's next single “Your Love” was added to BBC Radio, and was also nominated for a Hollywood Music Award for Pop Single of the Year. The song caught the ears of legendary hip-hop producers DJ Quik and Jazzy Pha, winning first place in a production placement for R&B artist Truth Hurts, who was previously signed to Dr Dre’s Aftermath Record Label. 2017 saw MARKIA releasing his biggest singles to date; “Hate That I Love U” featuring US superstar Soulja Boy Tell Em and “Down For U” with Hip-Hop heavyweight Cassidy.
