BIO illanthropy, known off the stage as Stephen Blasy, is an Asheville, NC-based producer with more than his own agenda in mind. Several years into his DJ production pursuits, he decided that his live performances should be more than just a show that hypes up the crowd, makes the floor bounce, and is forgotten the next day. He blends big bass sounds, clear, ethereal melodies, and conscious thoughts in his production, working to inspire his crowd not only to dance, but to also try and expand their minds in a way that positively and significantly impacts their environment. illanthropy has performed alongside artists such as Opiuo (with the Opiuo Band), Thriftworks, Andreilien, Spankalicious, Sixis, Levitation Jones, and many more, and has performed at the New Mountain Theater in Asheville, the Asheville Music Hall, and the OneStop, located also in Asheville, NC. Fusing the visceral and intellectual, I use bass music to articulate my human experience.
