The Shadow Division is an alternative rock band based out of Cleveland, Ohio. The band is comprised of 4 members
stretching as far afield as the UK, Los Angeles and Cleveland. Since forming in early 2015, the band members Michael
Ridley (guitar), Max Espinosa (vocals/guitar), Kevin Hannah (drums) and Joe LaGuardia (bass) have been working
harmoniously with one another to create and deliver a powerful wall of sound. The Shadow Divisions’ sound is driven
by deep pounding drums, tight low-end bass and over driven guitars. However, they still leave space for sonically rich
riffs and lead lines. Vocals are interwoven with the musical elements to create an atmosphere of tension through
emotional melodies, hooks and dynamics.

The Shadow Division’s mission is to continuously push the boundaries of musical creativity and develop new ideas that
connect intimately and personally with audiences around the world.

The bands influences are drawn from a wide range of genres that is not limited to the obvious. This has been an
important component in the bands DNA, allowing The Shadow Division to forge a unique sound and deliver originality
through passion and creativity. Kevin comments, “Growing up, my musical roots were firmly planted in jazz, gospel,
classic rock and hip hop. I like to incorporate certain elements from these genres to give my rhythms a slightly
different feel and vibe.” Max adds, “My taste in music is wide and varied. I can listen to metal, hip-hop, and baroque
all in the same hour. Music has always had the ability to connect people, and rock has always connected the angst of
humanity. That’s why I do what I do. Perform and deliver with emotion on my sleeve in hope of making a connection.”
When asked what motivates The Shadow Division, Joe adds, “It’s the passion for creating music and playing it for
people. We want to see people enjoy what we do.”

The Shadow Division is working to make an impact in their local music scene. They are doing so by showing off their
trademark sound at local venues around Cleveland. The band has tested the tracks at some of their recent shows,
most recently supporting The Record Company at the Grog Shop in Cleveland. Early feedback of the new material has
been phenomenal and is a huge motivation for the development of future songs. When asked what the goal moving
forward is, Michael replies, “To continue to experiment with new ideas and to tap into new music audiences across the
world.”

The band released their first official single on March 11, 2016, titled ‘Wake Up’. The single has been well received by
fans and was designed as a run up to the new self-titled EP. The track is currently available to buy or stream on all
major digital outlets.
