Travis Thibodaux
New Orleans, LA
(Hometown: Lockport, LA)
Travis has been in the music business all of his life beginning in early childhood when he and his father started a band of their own. At 12 years old he penned his first song, " Take My Hand, " which was cut by Grammy winning zydeco/cajun artist Wayne Toups. The song proved to be a major boost for Wayne's career, making an appearance on the Billboard charts, as well as helping Travis' status as a singer / songwriter. Travis and his father released 3 albums before Travis moved to Memphis, TN writing and recording for 3 major jingle companies.
Upon moving back home to Louisiana he joined the pop/country group HipBootJoe which lasted for eight years taking he and the band around the country performing for packed houses and releasing 3 cds. It was the last of these 3 that caught the attention of country band Williams Riley's founder Steve Williams, who brought him into his group allowing Travis to focus his attention more on songwriting in the Nashville community. He lived in Nashville for 3 years touring, writing and getting into the demo-singer circles in town.
He moved back home again and was part of the New Orleans party band MoJeaux through early 2016, providing drums and vocals, while working on a college degree at Tulane and Nicholls State University, respectively.
It was a random call after years of distance with an old Nashville writing partner, Jonathan Cain from the iconic rock band Journey ("Don't Stop Believin," "Open Arms," "Faithfully") that leads us to the present.
Travis recently announced he will be touring with Journey for their 2016 summer tour as a background vocalist and looking forward to this experience and getting to meet new bandmates and fans.
He is releasing new original material on each side of the Journey tour and hopes to continue the touring circuit into the future as a solo act between other opportunities.
