I just got home from his show here in Toronto and as they say, "absence makes the heart grow fonder,' and there was no denying the love that was shared between him and his Canadian fans (even to the point of a playful apology LOL). From the opening notes of Holding On to his encore closer It's Probably Me, Gregory kept his audience enwrapped with his charm and vocal talent with stand outs like Water Under Bridges having Chip Crawford accompanying him on piano, to a near heart stopping and soulful rendition of My Funny Valentine, as well as fan favorites Liquid Spirit and Hey Laura. Gregory Porter had Massey Hall in a loving musical embrace...❤️ A wonderful night was had by all! ☺️

Madrid last night. Big big thank you to the Gregory Porter Band. Very very very VERY good!! You get it all. Smooth caramel, punchy wine and potent blue cheese 😅 they're so strong together, individually dripping with competence and unlike some jazz, they get you in with them. It was like 100 mins of therapy, soul satisfaction... I had a lump in my throat at times, a tear in my eye, uncontrollable. Gregory is a pure leader, not just a singer ..and his message is pure and full of goodness. Double bass didn't stop smiling for the whole gig, drums had by brain neurons buzzing, Hammond just so so good, key/organ was in another place, sax brought me back to my jazz gigging days (it's been a while unfortunately)...but I went there, sound was excellent. Gregory, I wasn't sure he'd open up...but his voice wraps his arms around you, the range, the honesty, the depth, the slinky pace... so so gifted. I went for the voice but the band were collectively so on top of their game, so glad I made it. Thank you Gregory Porter sextet, I was properly whisked away 🙏

Astonishing show. Great performance and extraordinary band. Playlist very tuned but may be Gregory Porter could have been more generous with more vocal performance adding more songs. It was good but short, it was a very intense and great show. Audience was very polite, may be in Spain we would have requested more songs. Gregory Porter was superb with a great swing, he danced and let the band to perform as the master musicians they are. I hope I can see him again in the future. Last show song was 'It's probably me' that was favorite for my sister that passed away before she could see Gregory Porter alive. But she was there enojoying the great performance of this fantastic singer. God bless you Gregory Porter.

Excellent evening spent listening to the amazing voice of Mr Gregory Porter. A truly brilliant artist we thoroughly enjoyed the show. The venue is equally amazing very clean, comfortable and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Would definitely see Gregory again and would love to see other artists at Birmingham Symphony Hall.

He is a great singer and performer but felt he did not sing enough. The play list was also not the best. The musicians are also fab but Mr Porter let them play too many solos giving them lime light be it they were great we wanted to hear Mr Porter sing.. When he started singing my girl the room erupted but he only sang a few bars. Could have done with some more classics.

Already a favored and fervent voice, Gregory Porter, like the finest of wines, gets better year by year! What a way to begin the Christmas Season right! The band, from the glue of the sax to drums to Hammond organ to background singers to the, O My Goodness, bassist and piano dual engagement of the crowd to NOT allow ‘Musical Genocide’ was powerfully inclusive. Having lost my mother recently, Porter helped me even to reflect in remembrance of her and all things Christmas with his healing rendition of ‘If I Could Kiss My Mother Once More at Christmas’. Thank You My Brother, whether 3 months or 30 years, still dear! This full house was truly appreciative of Gregory’s stories and selfless musical sharing of all in the gift of music in and beyond the season. Surely the makings for Happy Holidays to say the least. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You O Great Songster!!

We flew from St Louis to Denver just for the Gregory Porter Show at the Denver Botanic Garden. From start to finish just a perfect night. We had our picnic meal. We rented chairs at the venue. We enjoyed the opening act of Gabriel (like the Angel, he told us) Royal (like royalty). A cellist who composes his music in the NY subways. A delight. The transition to Gregory Porter’s band was smooth. And then Gregory Porter made his entrance striding in wearing a dazzling white suit and his trademark Kangol. He stayed with his set list and there was no encore (it was a long walk from the stage to the Green Room so when he left the stage, you knew that was it). But each member of the band was featured and Gregory Porter was just great. There were several songs you wished he had included but you enjoyed the songs included. A beautiful night. We flew home the next day.

Gregory is amazing, I was finally able to see him live! Great voice and great human being, he's very charismatic. The only weak point of the show was technical difficulties. I found it very disrespectful to Gregory and to the audience that his microphone was shot to hell, specially after the technical staff somehow took 30 minutes to set up the equipment after the opening act. 5 (infinite) stars to Gregory and his band, disappointed by the venue and technical staff.

I’ve seen Gregory several times and it’s always a delight. Last night’s show was a masterful performance. His voice was perfect, his joy contagious. I brought a few friends who had never heard of him and they were between speechless and (joyfully) tearful. Moved to their cores by his (and the band…my god, the trumpeter) skill, passion and love. Kudos to LA County’s Beaches and Harbors Department for presenting a FREE show that was well-planned and managed.

The artist was very good and the ticket pricing was great. Seats were good. The concert started an hour and 15 minutes late which is rough when it is a Sunday night and we had traveled over 90 minutes (I know it's a choice) to see the show. He had a good set, but did not perform the songs that most came to hear. He acknowledged that at the end and said "you can invite me back".

Yet his original music deeply touches the heart with a message that love is welcome here. Last night I got to remember the beauty of community, of love and I was filled with the kind of inspiration only possible when seated before people who have devoted their lives to becoming great channels of the divine in this case– through their music. The musical selection sent messages of the importance of truth, the pain of heartbreak and through it all loving a pure and potent divinity through the experience of life in songs like Painted on Canvas, Musical Genocide, No Love Dying, Insanity to name only a few. The audience, through their joy, attention, dance and reception of these beautiful souls made the cycle of this great gift complete, and showed me the beauty of what it means to give and receive, and receive and give. My personal gift was in the joy of sitting next to new friends and understanding the magic created when love is so present, when the lyrics are delivered with a clarity that moves all the way through your soul that it opens your heart. I felt, and I am so grateful, the heart of a man willing to love, and his experience of that in relationship, and it changed me. Rearranged something in my soul that had me open to love and life even more, and I am forever grateful for that. A big thank you to the brilliant musicians and to the audience. It was simply divine.

This was not my first Gregory Porter show, so I knew it was going to be good. But the atmosphere was on another level. During one song, I think half the audience was in tears and he received a standing ovation. Then he started crying on stage. An incredibly moving experience.

Excellent venue, nice selection of artists. Gregory Porter capped off a very nice evening with an excellent selection of his memorable hits so far. Going deep to explain the origin of the songwriting was a nice way to start the weekend off. The musicianship was off the charts but wouldn’t expect any less from such artist. The entire crowd was very familiar with the artist and it showed. Last saw this artist before Covid, so it was nice join a crowd who fully enjoyed an artist in their very best light.
