We love Nayo Jones and The Nayo Jones Experience so much that we have gone to see her three times in the last 12 months (11/12/22, 3/11/23, 11/25/23) - the last two times to take guests in from out of town.
Unfortunately, while the quality of the performances (singing and music) are terrific, there has been a lot of repitition in the songs she sings. We have heard at least three of the same songs at each performance. That may not sound like mcuh at first thought, but in a show that only lasts an hour - and a good deal of that time is instrumentals, and with songs that she does as dramatically as she does them, the repeating of the same songs is obvious.
With talent like hers, theirs, she ought to be able to perform a greater variety of songs than she does. If she is just catering to tourists, I guess it doesn't matetr so much. Hoeeber, if she also wants to attract regulars, she should have a bigger repertoire.
We love the venue, we love her... but we probably won't go back again for quite a while.

This was not our first time seeing Nayo Jones. When we are in town for the Saints games, we always plan to attend one of her shows. We had friends from Texas who had never been to the Jazz Playhouse. We introduced them to Nayo Jones and now they will play to see her when they visit NOLA. She and the band's performance was outstanding as usual.
