Mark Swayze

Over the past nine years, The Mark Swayze Band has been organically formed into a group that functions solely for the purpose of spreading their passion for worshiping God. Comprised of volunteers from their home church of The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, TX, Mark Swayze has built a team focused on a desire to serve the Kingdom and further the name of Jesus Christ. As he has grown over the years in his role as a worship leader in the United Methodist Church and at youth/college/adult camps all over the country, Swayze and his band have been branching out in hopes of leading a worship experience that ultimately connects people with the God of the universe. "Our goal is to be obedient to the Father and to provide people with a chance to worship their creator," says Swayze. "In no way are we interested in having what we do seem like a performance. We want to worship WITH God's people, not just have others watch us." With a passion for the local church, the Mark Swayze Band is also interested in spreading the good news around the world. In 2009, the band traveled to Costa Rica to lead a revival in the country's capital of San Juan. "It was one of the most awe inspiring examples of God's glory that I have ever seen", says Swayze. "We can't predict what God might have for us, but we will go where we are called." Now, after years of compiling songs, the band will be heading to Nashville to record their debut album in 2011. "After praying and preparing we feel that God is now calling us to take this step of obedience," says Mark. "The outpouring of support has really been astounding. We're very excited to see what God will do with these songs."
