IKARUS DOWN

Ikarus Down is made up of lead singer/rhythm guitarist Jonathan Ferrer, lead guitarist William “Ryan” Gardiner, bassist Patrick Masimore & drummer Daniel Langkammer. The Alternative / Space-Rock group formed in 2009 and has released two albums: “The Ep” & thier debut full length “Friction”. Fascination in greek mythology prompted their name, with a twist of letter play. The Ep was released in November of 2011. This was a collection of songs the band had written when they first grouped. Covering topics of love, heartbreak and animosity, the EP made you feel good about expression. Songs from the record “Vacant”, “Critical Condition” and “Love Your Lies” recieved radio play and quickly let Milwaukee know they had something to say worth listening to. The band’s debut full -length record “Friction” was released in April of 2012 with a sold out show at Milwaukee’s favorite “Cactus Club”. The record quickly displayed maturity, while maintaining a sensable youth. Similar to their previous release, multiple songs received radio play. “Friction” displayed how diverse the group can be while continuing to keep their eyes on one goal; self evolving creativity. The record quickly became choice, and the band was beginning to see their hard work pay off. Sharing the stage alongside bands such as Imagine Dragons, Atlas Genius, Morning Parade, Metric, SIxpence None The Richer and Third Eye Blind, Ikarus Down has made a noble impact here in Milwaukee. This year marks their 4th time back to Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival. The band believes in the power of their music and the strength of working hard for what you believe in. No stranger to drudgery, these guys wrote, engineered and recorded both of their records themseleves. The band plans to release another ep before the fall with the same intentions, recording and writing the music how they see fit while in the comfort of their rehearsal studio.
