Biographie de Andrew Greer

A multiple Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriter and respected author, Andrew Greer is known for his old soul sound. The native Texan and now-Nashville resident’s soulful-folk-gospel discography displays a deep affection for vintage spiritual songs, instinctively captured on his hymn recordings, "Angel Band: The Hymn Sessions" and "Angel Band: The Christmas Sessions".

“Hymns are as true to my human experience as my own catalog of songs,” Greer shares. “In fact, if it hadn’t been for the impact of those indelible tunes, I may have never fallen in love with music, or been introduced to God.”

Showcasing collaborations with some of the top names in Americana, bluegrass and Gospel music, including Sonya Isaacs, Ginny Owens, The McCrary Sisters, Ron Block (of Alison Krauss & Union Station), Nashville legend Phil Madeira and iconic Grammy Award-winning recording artist Sandi Patty, The Hymn Sessions and Christmas Sessions recordings reached the Top 10 on Amazon and iTunes mainstream charts respectively.

As co-creator of the innovative “Hymns for Hunger” Tour along with Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan, Andrew has helped raise awareness and resources for hunger relief organizations in hundreds of cities across the country, including numerous invitation-only performances including Samaritan’s Purse and Amy Grant’s “Tennessee Weekend”. Having collected tens of thousands of dollars, food and volunteer hours in support of America’s neighbors in need, Andrew say the tour is much more than a fundraiser. “It has been a perspective changer for us to observe how music can help address the need of our neighbors instantly. We hope this ongoing tour effort is one small part of bringing heaven to earth.”

A 2013 GMA Dove Award nominee for Instrumental Album of the Year for "All Things Bright & Beautiful: Hymns for the Seasons", Greer held the #1 spot on Nielsen Christian SoundScan’s Instrumental chart for 25 weeks. His first book – "Transcending Mysteries: Who is God, and What Does He Want From Us?" – co-authored with fellow singer/songwriter Ginny Owens, was released in 2015 by Thomas Nelson.

When not on the road, Andrew enjoys his home in Franklin, TN.
