Fate Under Fire

Fate Under Fire started as a promise. Growing up, David James was told by his single mother to do what you love. This echoed through him and followed his childhood as he transitioned in bands from drummer, guitarist, to songwriter and producer, and graduating SFSU only to bid his mom her final farewell after battling cancer. Feeling his mother die within his arms, after years of hope, scarred him deeper than anything ever could. 


Throughout the years, releasing 2 EP's, multiple tours, cover videos, and self produced songs and music videos, FUF has seen extensive success between winning MTVu's Freshman Five competition and songs getting picked up left and right for television including the theme song for NBC's TODAY SHOW and getting best song of 2018 (La La Love) in Music Connection Magazine. Most recently writing the theme package for THE DREW BARRYMORE SHOW the only new syndicated show from a major network in 2020 due to Covid, FUF also has a full length album simmering to drop.

Life is what you make of it, which is what this project is all about to David. Originating from Sacramento, and now with roots also established in Nashville, there is no stopping for this Alternative Indie Pop artist.

Having released mostly upbeat & hopeful songs previously, there is a dark side to this artist.. With his most haunting single yet, “Flicker” out May 14th 2021 he embraces his biggest tragedy through every tear during recording.
