I’m not going to just review Fairy Bones in here. I’m gonna mention the whole night, all four bands. First up was Sattva. I knew nothing about them before going to the show. Afterwards I was able to find one song by them and the recording was great, but live they are so much more. They played about 6-8 songs and they were all just as good or better than the last. They’re someone that is now on my radar. I don’t know who reads these, but if anyone from The Wayback Sessions happens upon this - book these guys! Up next was Ghost Moone, comprised of Travis and Jarred of Chrome Rhino with Daphne and her bassist (sorry. I don’t know his name) from Daphne & The Glitches and Bob, their producer, on drums. They recently dropped their first single and I loved it. I really wanted to see them perform live and hear some other stuff from them. It was all outstanding. Next, Daphne was back on stage with Fairy Bones. A recent addition to the band, she was a welcome one. She had amazing chemistry with the lead singer and the rest of the band was tight and just plain fun. Finally, Comptalo and The Humanughts. The flow of the lyrics mixed with jazz, funk, rock and rap is like my ears just ate a meal they know is bad for them, but they can’t stop.

Biographie de Fairy Bones

Fairy Bones is the drama you’re missing in your life.

Phoenix-based, alt pop/rock act—named “Best Local Band” by Phoenix New Times—is led by the “unapologetic spirit” (NPR) and powerhouse vocals of 30-something, tattoo-covered, singer/songwriter Chelsey Louise.

The bands debut album—0% Fun (2018)—was a media-darling, praised by Alternative Press, NPR, Arizona Republic, Paste, and Impose who called it "unsettling, beautiful, and powerful all at once.”

The singles—including fan-favorites No One Can Suffer Like I Can, 8 Ball, Hang Wit Da Boiz, and Killing Me—landed airtime on KWSS 93.9, ALT AZ 93.3, 98KUPD, NPR, and Sirius XM.

Notably they’ve opened for Highly Suspect (direct tour support), Mother Mother, Doll Skin, Jessica Hernandez & the Deltas, Vundabar, Starcrawler, Rozwell Kid, KONGOS, Alien Ant Farm, Marcy Playground, Fuel and Kyle Gass Band.
