Your Host MC TWISTY W/ Selectors PREDITAH [Circles | Boy Better Know | C4 | KISS FM] Nathan Gerald, better known as Preditah is a Garage/Grime music composer, DJ & Bassist from Birmingham, England. Thanks to His orchestral, melodic head-banging music, He is now one of the most recognisable names and faces in Grime – a poster boy, even. With Six instrumental EPs under his belt (Solitaire EP, Eightsome EP, Circles EP, Red Bull EP, Gears of Grime, El Futuro EP) and a ton of remix work as well, it’s quite impossible to listen to the radio or go out clubbing without hearing one of his tracks blazing through the airwaves or tearing down a dance-floor. Preditah’s breakthrough track was ‘The Big Wok’ which was noticed by JME (Boy Better Know). Once he started screaming his name, it wasn’t long until the rest of the UK music scene and beyond witnessed just how talented Preditah is. He’s undoubtedly most popular track to date is entitled Circles which is the main track of he’s ‘Circles EP’ As well as producing music, Preditah is also known to be an awesome DJ. He has been busy traveling up and down the UK and Europe showing clubs and promoters that he is just as good a DJ as he is a music composer. All in the space of a year, Preditah had mixed for Boiler Room, appeared on the cover or RWD Magazine, graced the pages of Mixmag, and toured around Europe. Things are looking extremely promising for the Birmingham beatsmith. _______________________________________________ NIXSIN [Baltimore] Coming from the outskirts of Baltimore, Nixsin (Nick Anthony) is a bass music producer and DJ that is sure to take your mind to the deepest, wildest, and definitely weirdest places it has ever been. With influences including the likes of Duke Ellington to Bird Parker and King Tubby to Icicle, Nixsin's range must be experienced in the dance to be truly known. _______________________________________________ MALLEUS [GourmetBeats] Between the literal term of ‘a small bone in the middle ear that transmits vibrations of the eardrum to the incus’ and its Latin derivative, hammer of the witch, both meanings of the word Malleus loosely relate back to the artist in question. This decade long guitarist, drummer, and self-taught producer has roots darker than most within the bass culture. With a slight obsession of horror and the occult, Malleus applies his early hip hop background to his death metal roots to create a sound all too eerie. Captivated by low end frequencies found within the bpm of 140, he harnessed a taste for raw sampling, odd time signatures, forward thinking syncopation, and haunting melodies that would give anyone the creeps. His productions are lively and energetic while still somehow sinister and troubling, as Joe Nice once put it “That brother makes tunes that will have you thinking about your life.” With early digital releases on the likes of Gradient Audio and FKOFd, and a dominant stamp on the Gourmet Beats name, this up and coming artist is one to keep your eyes open for. _______________________________________________ NORMALING [Space Is The Place | Seclusiasis | Noremixes | Friends With Benefits] A seemingly unlikely pair from the outside looking in, the duo comprised of .rar Kelly and Lemz, expands the palette of Baltimore club with techno, electro, hip-hop, ballroom and other underground sounds for an even more raucous approach to club music. When listening to Normaling you might hear something like Baltimore club music for the runway. Or dark techno with a perfect hint of sass. Although their sound may prove undefinable, one fact remains - Normaling is pushing club music to it's furthest edges and laughing all the way. _______________________________________________ DJ TARIK EVOLVE [The UKG Social] Tarik Evolve is your local dowtown sonic regenade. Since 2001, he has been searching and exploring the world for riddims. After eight years in the US Army, he has settled back in his homestate of Maryland to get back to what he loves most; music and the dance floor! In his search for the best new riddims, he found himself loving the future bass sounds of UK Garage, 2 Step, and Grime. His mix still reflects his roots of House, Techno, and D&B.
