Biographie de Sonic Templars

Sonic Templars formed in 2012, and since then they have amassed a large and loyal following. The Alternative Rock four-piece is known for their 'split-vocal' style, with singer/guitarist Stewart Bryden combining harmonies with guitarist Stephen Crawford to create a powerful vocal onslaught. The band has drawn comparisons to the melodic, experimental sound of Radiohead and the alternative riff-rock of Queens of the Stone Age. Debut EP 'Breaking Silence' was released in August 2012 on Newtown Products independent record label to rave reviews, and had two singles released from it. 'The Human Connection' has received airplay on Jim Gellatly's Amazing radio show, and second single 'Mephisto's Minions' saw the band voted in the top five emerging icons in the UK by 'Emerging Icons'. Second EP ‘Minds in Transit’ was released in May 2013 and was immediately praised for its musical progression from the debut EP, introducing soundscapes over the songs. First single ‘Sweet Deceit’ was championed by Rick Witter of Shed Seven and given airplay on his radio show on Minster FM. The track has also been played on the Aaron Phillips rock show on Amazing Radio. To date, the band have supported The View, Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene/PaulWeller), The Bluetones, The Buzzcocks and Echobelly. They have also performed at the Cavern Club in Liverpool and were recently one of the highlights of 'Future-fest' at Glasgow’s 02 Academy. In February the band were picked from over 200 bands to perform at Glasgow’s 02 ABC1. The band released 3rd EP 'Weapons of Mass Distrust' in september 2014 and have released single 'Lay Down Your Guns' which has received airplay on Amazing Radio by Jim Gellatly. Second single will be released in march 2015 with a single launch at the Hard Rock Cafe in glasgow followed by a UK tour. Forthcoming single 'Porcupine' will be released in april followed by highly anticipated fourth EP 'Ascension'. Sonic Templars is a grunge-infused yet melodic outfit combining a lust for big riffs with a healthy appetite for intricate, dissonant harmonies.
