BACKCHANNEL

BACKCHANNEL is a five-piece post-hardcore band hailing from the Greater Toronto Area. With a combined experience of over a decade spent in various bands and solo projects, the members of BACKCHANNEL have been part of the city's underground music scene for years, each bringing their own diverse influences and sonic background to the table.

Drawing inspiration from a wide range of genres—hardcore, metal, punk, emo, and beyond—the band blends elements of each to create their own unique sound. Whether it's the intensity of hardcore, the raw energy of punk, or the emotional depth of emo music, BACKCHANNEL’s songs reflect a rich mix of influences that span the emotional spectrum.

As the members have grown older (and hopefully wiser), BACKCHANNEL’s musical approach has evolved into something deeper and more personal. Returning to the music scene with renewed passion, they’re driven by the same fire and sense of urgency they had as younger band kids, but with the added perspective of experience. Their music is a way to reconnect with the emotions of their past, set fresh goals, and channel the energies of their everyday lives into something meaningful. Above all, BACKCHANNEL is about creating music for the love of creating—crafting songs that are both cathartic and reflective, and driven by the shared bond of their collective journey.
