Post Pulse

Finnish modern metal band Post Pulse has reached the release of its third album Lupaus, continuing the band’s musical evolution towards a more melodic, catchy, and larger production. While Halls of the Damned (2017) introduced Post Pulse’s stripped-down and brutally grooving death metal, and Return to the Halls (2024) showcased the band’s more melodic and sensitive side, the new album Lupaus (2026) reveals what the band is capable of when all rules are removed — once again.

There is now more rock than death in Post Pulse’s music, with clean vocals and clear melodies taking a larger role. Finnish identity is strongly present, and instead of relentless speed, the tempos are oppressively heavy. Lupaus sounds like the result of a mature band’s creativity — a band with a strong identity, deep roots, and the courage to reinvent itself.

Lupaus is a 45-minute work consisting of five tracks, culminating in the album’s closing 22-minute metal behemoth, “The Hole”. The record deals with themes we encounter daily in both the news cycle and society. Topics explored on the album include war, domestic violence, depression, substance abuse, and social exclusion.

Lupaus was mixed by Juhis Kauppinen, know of his band Merta and mastered by Miro Kiiski. The album cover painting is a work by artist Juuso Laatio.
