BIG SUGAR are back with ¡EARTHLINGS!, their first new record in 7 years. A two set theatrical presentation showcases the entire ¡EARTHLINGS! album along with radio hits plus deep cuts and rarities from one of the most unique catalogues in Canadian music. The BIG SUGAR power trio weaves their with socially conscious lyrics and Roots Rock Reggae through a wall of guitars, adding vocal harmonies that evoke Jamaica, Motown or an East Coast kitchen party. It’s the full on BIG SUGAR experience. GORDIE JOHNSON, one of the most celebrated guitarists this country has ever produced, is joined by multi-talented bassist ANDERS DRERUP and young phenom drummer ROOT VALACH. Fresh from the studio after whirlwind years that saw the THIRD MAN RECORDS vinyl release of their influential 500 POUNDS record, a JACK WHITE cover of Big Sugar’s “Ride Like Hell” and theatre tours for the platinum “Heated” and “Hemi-Vision” albums that included dates with JACK WHITE, WARREN HAYNES, THE BLACK CROWES and ISLAND EXODUS w GOV’T MULE. Since the 90’s BIG SUGAR have been a staple on the airwaves and highways with songs like “Diggin’ A Hole”, “Turn the Lights On”, “All Hell for a Basement” and “Roads Ahead”. GORDIE JOHNSON’S influential guitar playing has built a loyal following, earning BIG SUGAR a Road Gold Award.
