pure xtc is the genre blurring project of Kansas City based artist Taylor Hughes, blending raw, confessional lyricism with bold, dance forward production and fuzzy guitars. Hughes writes and produces the music, shaping a sound that sits between indie rock and electronic pop. Performing as a duo with drummer Blaire Geenens, the project delivers a high energy live show driven by explosive drums, driving guitars and synth textures. pure xtc has played festival stages across the U.S. and shared bills with artists like Dashboard Confessional, Aly & AJ, Big Freedia, Bob The Drag Queen, Jenny Lewis, Slayyyter, Fletcher and more. pure xtc’s debut album, “the women I loved, the songs I kept” is slated for a summer 2026 release.
