The blues rolls into Gotthard Bar — Dan Elwood and his Twisted Smoke Band are bringing raw, soulful sounds to the stage.
Led by powerhouse harmonica player and frontman Dan Elwood, this Croatian-Swiss blues act blends classic rhythm’n’blues, soul, and rock'n'roll with gritty original songs and vintage grooves. From foot-stomping shuffles to heart-wrenching ballads, their live shows deliver deep emotion, tight musicianship, and a whole lot of energy.
Expect standout performances of tracks like “Lonely Bluesman”, “Angel Come To Me”, and the fan-favorite “They Call Me Dan Elwood.” And of course a blend of covers. Whether you're a die-hard blues lover or just looking for something real — this is a band that feels the music.

Discover Zürich's number one blues band, established in 2007 by Dan Elwood, one of the most captivating blues harmonica players in Switzerland and Croatia! We transcend genres and our music spans beyond blues! No matter your musical taste, you’ll find a song to love at our show. Dan E. Čalogović, better known as Dan Elwood, creates music that resonates with a raw, authentic emotion, leaving a lasting impact by infusing every note he plays with the essence of the blues.
Along with covers of classic songs, the band also performs original compositions by Dan Elwood himself. What may initially appear as a modest blues ensemble goes far beyond that. When we perform live, our configurations adapt, ranging from a dynamic trio to a versatile quartet or even a quintet. We proudly boast a broad network of talented musicians who frequently collaborate with Dan Elwood and his Twisted Smoke Band, enriching our musical experiences.
