Mahogany (USA) Mahogany dovetails elements of post-punk, shoegaze, disco and classical into futuristic, architectural, symphonic compositions. Duo Andrew Prinz and Jaclyn Slimm combine vocals, twin 12-string guitars, massive bass, densely-sequenced rhythms, and a variety of synthesizers and samplers for an immersive effect known as the "Hypercube." The Mahogany discography already comprises two critically-acclaimed full-length albums The Dream of the Modern Day and Connectivity!, as well as numerous singles, EPs and compilation tracks collected on the double-disc Memory Column. Together with swedish born Hillevi Robertsson on bass and Hugo Rd on drums, the 4-piece blend shoegaze, new wave, noise and power pop into a style as mesmerizing as it is catchy. A set of demos in 2020 led to a self-titled maxi-EP on Toulouse’s Hidden Bay Records in 2022, with a full-length LP released in october 2024 by Hidden Bay Records, Safe Suburban Home Records and Indie or Die Records. With their debut EP in 2022, followed by their album Movements in 2024, the Parisian quartet made a name for themselves by opening for Foxing, The Telescopes, Pale Blue Eyes, GIFT, and most notably Explosions In The Sky at the Bataclan in Paris. International exposure also embraced them, with several UK tours already under their belt and appearances at The New Colossus festival in New York in March 2026, followed by Left Of The Dial in Rotterdam in October. This solid foundation allows them to convert the try with a brand new EP. The result of a lineup change, Dread, This Could Save You strikes while the iron is hot. Produced under the guidance of Clément Libes (BRUIT ≤, M83, Bigflo & Oli), this project feels like a detour towards a certain liberation from the band’s genre label. Midscale is resolutely (post) rock here, albeit ever more dreamy and melancholic.
