Everett LaRoi

Everett LaRoi is an Edmonton-based singer-songwriter whose career spans decades with beloved Canadian bands Goldtop, Idyl Tea, and Manraygun. His new 10-song album Morning Stars Mournings Hush—which CKUA’s Amy van Keeken called “a beautiful new record”—marks a compelling new chapter, blending indie-folk rock, alt-country, and post-rock textures.

Since its release, live-off-the-floor videos from the album have drawn more than 30,000 YouTube views, and it climbed to #7 on the !earshot National Folk & Roots chart (February 10, 2026). LaRoi celebrated with a packed hometown show at Edmonton’s Rocky Mountain Icehouse.

Coming of age in the post-punk era of the Replacements, R.E.M., and Hüsker Dü, LaRoi crafts instantly recognizable vocal melodies, shimmering tremolo guitars, and lyrical snapshots that explore midlife’s complexities—loss, resilience, friendship, and change. The album features drummer Mike Silverman, bassist Tom Murray, and background vocalist Alice Kos.
