His most recent album OYA was nominated for Best Global Music Album at the 2022 JUNOs, and his song Wenge Yongo captured first prize at the International Songwriting Competition (USA) in 2024. Born in Madagascar and raised across continents, Donné’s music blends African roots with a contemporary edge. His career highlights include composing the long-running theme for CBC Radio’s Fresh Air and performing as a backup singer with the Swedish pop group Ace of Base
