Biographie de Tomás McCarthy
Tomás McCarthy is releasing his debut EP this year, entitled “Colours”- the name of the title track, beloved amongst fans of his live shows. Recorded at Monique Studios and produced by Christian Best, McCarthys sound is firmly rooted in a liminal world where tradition meets a maverick heart. A decade spent as the primary songwriter for Fire and Water, collaborating and touring the world in a group defined by its acoustic raw synergy and dynamic performances, Tomás now brings his colourful lyricism and powerful presence to his own work.
Tomás McCarthy’s sound is marked by contrast – his gravelly, blues-laden vocal that lilts with the agility and melisma of his Irish spirit, accompanied by nimble, melodic guitar-playing and raucous, hard-rock based grooves.
Tomás has been entertaining audiences in Europe and the US with Fire and Water for years but 2025 will see some career highlights – the release of “Colours” coinciding with opening for Geoff Tate on the entire US run of Operation Mindcrime : The Final Chapter, accompanied by his wife, Clódagh on saxophone and fellow Irishman James Keegan on guitar.
“McCarthy’s voice is deep and gravelly. Kearney’s sultry saxophone, and heavenly vocals are true music.. with bluesy, soulful undertones” – loudto.com
