Biographie de Pi Jacobs
Pi's new album, Soldier On debuted at #44 on the AMA CHarts, and spent over 16 weeks in the top 100, ten of those weeks in the top 50.
Pi Jacobs draws inspiration from her unconventional upbringing in “The Land of Weed and Wine” aka Northern California. Blending roots-rock swagger and storytelling soul, her music has drawn comparisons to Tom Waits, Dolly Parton, and Lucinda Williams. She has been heard on NPR, DittyTV, Austin Music TV, Americana Highways, American Songwriter Magazine, and regularly on radio stations around the globe.
Press:
“…an explosive strength. Think a mix of Melissa Etheridge, Beth Hart, and Wynonna Judd.” Glide Magazine
“…roots-rock swagger and storytelling soul” -Top40 Charts
“funny, poignant, irreverent, but always personal. Come enjoy her rootsy sound, powerful vocals, and charismatic stage swagger! She might not heal you, but you'll forget your problems for a few hours” New Times San Luis Obispo
“…one of the most lyrically progressive and entertaining songwriters of this era. "The ease and wisdom of greats like Dolly Parton and Kris Kristofferson, she belongs in their company.” Rock and Blues Muse Rock and Blues Muse
“Pi Jacobs has a voice that lets you in, ‘sultry,’ to be sure, but it’s more than that…. Jacobs pulls together one of the most difficult moves in music — she makes her own noise” - Claremont Courier
“To say it’s all mesmerizing is an understatement… a songwriting gift like few other young artists have now.” – Bentley’s Bandstand
"Jacobs creates vivid images on par with masters like Tom Waits" Americana Highways
"..a sultry, feminine, outlaw kind of sound" American Songwriter
“nothing here that doesn't impress at every turn. Hot. This'll do to you what Lucinda's white album did to you.” Midwest Record
"Divorce…whiskey…legal problems…cheaters…lies. Whatever story comes next, it's going to be a good one.” Twangville
“great country music right here in LA” KCSN 88.5 Los Angeles
