Born in Pittsburgh, raised in the South, and educated at Belmont in Nashville, Lizzie burst onto the New York City jazz scene. Her critically acclaimed albums, New Sounds From The Jazz Age and Duo Encounters, established her as a leading voice in jazz. However, in this most recent chapter of her life, Lizzie is embracing a new direction—one profoundly personal and emotionally resonant—as she branches out into original music with her forthcoming seventh album, Awakening.
Recorded at the iconic Powerstation in NYC, Awakening features a close-knit group of musicians who have collaborated with some of the most celebrated names in jazz, soul, and beyond. Together, they’ve created a record that marks Lizzie’s evolution as an artist/producer and serves as a beacon of feminine empowerment, spirituality, and emotional liberation.

Lizzie Thomas continues to tour globally, which she has done for 16 years, exploring jazz standards while evolving as a songwriter, blending her classical piano training with a passion for storytelling. “I’ve spent a lifetime exploring the jazz canon, the greatest songs ever written,” she reflects. “But I’m also asked to be a vessel for my songs, which are imprints from my heart. I am now finding my purest expression through these songs. I feel my mission is to share them to serve humanity.”
