Carl Stone's Sydney debut. The context is Extasis, a night of live performances by some of the world’s leading contemporary experimentalists,, presented across several building at the Art Gallery NSW, The artists hail from the US, Japan, Kenya and Australia. Extasis will usher in an evening of exceptional artistic innovation. Curated by composer and artist Lawrence English (Room40), The full eveing starts at 5PM. Carl performs at 7:30 in the The Tank, a former WWII oil tank that is now a breathtaking art and performance space in the North Building.Best of all, the entire event is free of charge,

Biographie de Carl Stone
Carl Stone is one of the pioneers of live computer music, and has been hailed by the Village Voice as “the king of sampling.” and “one of the best composers living in (the USA) Carl Stone is one of the pioneers of live computer music, and has been hailed by the Village Voice as “the king of sampling.” and “one of the best composers living in (the USA) today.” RELIX Magazine has said "“Stone makes music that can hit your ear holes like a DMT flash.” Stone has used computers in live performance since 1986. He was born in Los Angeles and now divides his time between the US and Japan. He studied composition at the California Institute of the Arts with Morton Subotnick and James Tenney and has composed electro-acoustic music almost exclusively since 1972.
