BARANY at lauschig, WINTERTHUR (CH)
Krimiautorin Christine Brand (Blind, Der Unbekannte) verlor als Tochter des örtlichen Bestatters bereits früh ihre Angst vor den Toten. Als Gerichtsreporterin erhielt sie Einblick in die Welt der Justiz und der Kriminologie. Heute schreibt sie als Spiegel-Bestsellerautorin Krimi um Krimi. Mit ihrem neusten Werk Vermisst startet sie eine neue Reihe um die charismatische Ermittlerin Malou Löwenberg.
Bei lauschig begegnet sie auf der Bühne Esther Pauchard (Jenseits der Sprechstunde), Fachärztin für Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie – und ebenfalls Krimiautorin. Ihre zahlreichen Krimis spielen alle im psychiatrischen und medizinischen Milieu. Zuletzt erschien 2022 Jenseits der Gier, eine spannende Spurensuche mit gefährlichen Tiefen und viel Humor.
Die beiden stellen sich den treffsicheren Fragen des Journalisten Dominik Dusek.
Für die passend düstere Musik sorgt die Walliser Musikerin Barany. Seit ihren ersten Live-Auftritten 2017 ist sie mehrfach ausgezeichnet worden, ist an Festivals mit internationalem Renommee aufgetreten und hat Tourneen durch ganz Deutschland gespielt.

Biographie de BARANY
BARANY hangs like a dark melodious fog between your ears for some time after listening. This music is sultry and evocative with a deep rumbling undertow that complements the clean unpretentiousness of the lyrics. BARANY’s vocals are supremely silky, slipping between the gentle and whispery, and something a little grittier, riddled with harmonies and sweetly sad at times. Echoes of Portishead and Radiohead are present but with the definite stamp of originality – delicately wrought and skillfully layered, yet of a rawness that leaves this music feeling so organic and alive. Enter BARANY’s world by letting yourself fall into it backwards.
Since their first live gigs in 2017, BARANY has released a highly-acclaimed debut record, «Lights Disappear» (2019), played numerous festivals (Blue Balls, Zermatt Unplugged, and Openair Gampel, among others), and toured Germany. In 2021, they were nominated at the Berlin Music Video Awards for their cover version of Nirvana’s «Heart-Shaped Box.» The gifted Swiss-British act’s international collaborations include producers Dan Austin (Massive Attack, Biffy Clyro) and re:dasein, as well as mastering mastermind Matt Colton (Thom Yorke, James Blake, Sampha). After supporting Trip-Hop royalty Morcheeba on their EU Tour in 2022, BARANY released their new album «Nanztal» on 13th October 2023 along with an exciting co-release “PROLOGUE” with aesthetic soulmate and filmmaker Jonas Ruppen!
