Biographie de Open Road (John Palmer & Lucia Comnes)
Open Road (Lucia Comnes & John Palmer) presents carefully-crafted original songs and acoustic covers of writers such as Rodney Crowell, Larry Campbell, Emmylou Harris, and Townes Van Zandt, with close harmonies and deft instrumental arrangements on guitar, fiddle, and viola. They met in Nashville under the mentorship of Rodney Crowell and share a passion for songwriting and live music. Both are music industry veterans and draw on experiences in previous bands ranging from Americana, Folk, Rock, Irish and World music.
Lucia Comnes is an award-winning songwriter and internationally renowned singer and fiddler. She has collaborated and toured with many notable artists including KITKA, Joan Baez and Paul Brady. She has been mentored by masters of American, European, and African folk music, and studied Ethnomusicology at UC Berkeley.
John Palmer is an avid songwriter, singer, and fingerstyle guitarist with a literary background and an encyclopedic knowledge of the American songbook, from Tin Pan Alley to modern-day Americana. As the musical director of Open Road, he draws on decades of musical experience, including studio work, teaching, and playing with rock and string bands, and soon will be releasing his first solo album.
