Tommaso Farinetti

I'm Tommaso Farinetti, a pianist and sound architect who passionately explores the possibilities of contemporary music and musical improvisation.
I cultivate an intense artistic activity. Among all the projects the „Minimal Duo“ with the pianist Serena Chillemi stands out, which aims to spread the mostly unexplored repertoire of minimal music for two pianos.
I’m also passionate about contemporary italian history and collaborates with MNEO (Italian Memory Archive) on the composition of the original score for a film that give voice to a moving story of the witnesses of the beginning of the Covid pandemic in Italy in 2020: “Through the walls. Stories at the time of the pandemic “. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Bologna massacre at the central train station in 1980 I soundtracked the documentary film "Our truths" on the testimonies of survivors.
I explore ever new languages und experiments with forms of performance in unusual places, such as the concert at sunrise on top of the disused tower of the NATO base on the Hoher Bogen mountain in Bavaria, a few kilometers from the border with the Czech Republic, which belonged to the Soviet Union until 1989. Music suspended between two worlds.
