Biographie de Dj Offishal
Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Dj Offishal began djing at age 9.
He knew he wanted to be a dj after seeing the local djs, hired by his father, a nightclub owner. After school he would watch them set up, and in those moments he discovered the original dj methods like crate digging , record selection, and the hustle and flow that separate good djs from great djs.
It was on his 9th birthday that he received the set of turntables he had asked his father for, but he didnt get headphones. Accepting the challenge he had to learn each record that he was going to spin and memorize the songs so he would know exactly where to the drop the needle. Its that meticulous attention to the music, not the hype, that made him Dj Offishal.
After years of building a clientele, via family functions and neighborhood events, he decided to work with a dj company owned by friends from high-school. Shortly after graduating he began to network and make contacts with hip-hop artists in Orlando including a local dj who went by the name Lyvwyr.
Dj Lyvwyr invited Dj Offishal to be his official opening dj at venues in and out of the Orlando area and beyond. The duo have earned the moniker "The Formula" for being known as the elements to rock a party.
Dj Offishal continues to rock EVERY party at events including but not limited to, events for & by Dwight Howard, Cedric the Entertainer, Draft Orlando, and Mercedes Benz. He describes his favorite moment to date spinning with Biz Markie, Kid Capri and Dougie Fresh, at the NBA All-Star Weekend 2012 events at Goose Lounge. Shutting it down with the pioneers of Hip-Hop, made it more than real, it made it Offishal.
