Description du concert
A Sea of Gold and Burgundy plays folk/roots music informed by lyricism and harmony. At the heart of the band there are three award-winning singer/songwriters and multi-instrumentalists who grew up together in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
"We aim to share our musical and songwriting with people to uplift, connect, inspire and hopefully to make life more bearable and beautiful’
Through the power of forgiveness, grace and grief, A Sea of Gold and Burgundy re-united after a decade apart. Collectively the core songwriters have a wealth of musical experience, compiling over twenty album and EP releases and sharing the stage with the likes of Sloan, Xavier Rudd, Ron Sexsmith, Danny Michel the Arkells and more.
The latest release "Golden Horizons" moves through grief, depression and forgiveness before taking a 180 degree turn towards the future with optimism and resolve.
Bryce Clifford
Clifford fronts his new band, "Brother Superior" in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) serving up his brand of melodic indie-rock, with "rueful and acerbic lyrics and bar room scarred vocals" (NOW Magazine)
These musicians bring with them influences of blue-grass, classical, honky-tonk, old school soul… name it - you might hear it. That said, a 'Bryce Clifford & Brother Superior' set is dominated with driving melodic rock songs that get stuck in your head, are played with joy, and have a touch of nostalgia that feels right and hits home.
Bryce has released two albums, three Eps, and his music has been featured on MTV, CBS, The Syfy Channel, Bravo Canada, The CW, and Austin indie-film "Here We Are".
Clifford bounces between Hamilton Ontario and Austin Texas, his creative feet planted in two artistically inspiring cities on both sides of the border.
The bands' sets flow effortlessly between indie-rock to downtempo piano balladry, to Wilco-esque alt-country, all with remnants of a post-punk influence.
It’s apparent that Bryce continues to make his musical landscape borderless in style, and heavily focused on ‘the song’.
