Biographie de FROG HAIR
FROG HAIR began in 2015 as a duo with JJ White and PJ Yruguez at its core. However, the duo quickly expanded its sonic palette, and by 2016, the addition of two Houston legends (Scott Ayers of Pain Teens on guitar and Michael Haaga of deadhorse on bass) transformed FROG HAIR into a dynamic four- piece ensemble. Their debut album, "A Long List of Shortcomings," released in 2016, was a testament to their DIY ethos. Self-produced,
recorded, mixed, and more, this album gave birth to captivating music videos for singles like "Cannonball" and "My Best Foot Forward."
After Haaga's departure in 2017, the band went through a series of collaborations, leading to their second album, "Mouse in the Belly of the Snake." Just as they were gearing up for its release in early 2020, a global pandemic struck, causing further lineup changes. With the world at a standstill, FROG HAIR decided to digitally release "Mouse in the Belly of the Snake" in April 2020, connecting with fans during a time of isolation.
In early 2020, JJ and longtime friend Michael Rollin collaborated on a cover of John Lennon's 'Gimme Some Truth,' sparking a creative connection that would shape FROG HAIR's future. When JJ approached Michael about joining the band as the drummer, it was a perfect match. Pandemic-era file sharing opened up a new realm of possibilities, and with Scott Ayers and Michael Rollin on board, the trio ventured into fresh musical territories. The
addition of Ben Murphy on bass in 2023 has redefined FROG HAIR's sound, driving them to craft their third album and an electrifying live show.
