Mike grew up on a small farm in Frederick County, Maryland. He sang in his church choir as a child, played violin in school and church, and learned guitar watching his father play. Mike played fiddle in a local band, and worked as a DJ for WMUC before marrying his high school sweetheart, Emily. Mike and Emily live in Frederick County, and are raising three children. With two children in college and one in high school, Mike has returned to his love of music and performing.
