Biographie de Golden Fang
Golden Fang is a melodic post-indie guitar band that combines the energy of the Pixies, the Drones or the Straightjacket Fits with the dirty grooves of the Bad Seeds or the Cruel Sea to capture the joys and contradictions of life in Sydney’s Inner West. Carl Redfern’s earthy vocals and questioning lyrics add a layer of intimate, irreverence that rewards a second or third listen.
At the end of the 2010s, Golden Fang were on a run of releasing an album a year, culminating in their fifth album, 2021's Man With Telltale Scars. In preparation for recording their 6th studio album, Golden Fang decided they needed to take a bit of a risk and shake up their process .
This new approach led to a collaboration with Melbourne producer Anth Dymke (Jo Meares, Pony Face). Together with Dymke, the band has created a collection of songs that transport the listener into different cinematic landscapes and moments, hence the title of the new album, Small Worlds - out March 15.
"Golden Fang don’t write songs, they write moments etched in the firmament that shimmer and shine, while singer Carl Redfern provides a yearning thread that binds the music together. ‘Blue Boy’ is a reflective and dreamy journey that starts with simple guitars and vocals before sparking like a lit fuse, waking up from a languorous beginning and morphing onto something that revs its powerful engines and shimmies and shakes." - Backseat Mafia
