Description du concert
Get ready for an intimate evening of acoustic instrumental guitar! With over twenty years of playing experience, his style of guitar playing is very unique due to the usage of percussive elements and altered tunings. Everything that you hear is played on one acoustic guitar with no loopers, tracks or other instruments.

Biographie de John McLaren

John Mclaren is an Instrumental Guitar Player/Composer born in Toronto, Canada who currently resides in Moncton, New Brunswick.

His musical journey began when he was seven years old and took up the violin. He specialized in playing classical and Scottish fiddle music. John won numerous awards across the Greater Toronto Area competing in music festivals.

During his teenage years, he had such a great passion for the guitar and was quickly growing out of the violin. He never thought that someday he would end up playing guitar at a professional level. That soon changed at age 15.

Since then he has spent many years learning and perfecting his acoustic and electric guitar playing with his main influences being Eric Johnson, Bruce Cockburn, Antoine Dufour and Micheal Hedges.

His debut single “The Pathless Path” was recorded and produced by one of the biggest names in acoustic guitar playing, Antoine Dufour. As was "Route 19". His music video for "The Pathless Path" was featured on the prestigious Candyrat Records Youtube Channel.

John just finished working as the Musical Director and Composer for the documentary film“ Pilgrimage to Enlightenment” directed by Luke Chadwick Jones. An album will soon follow the release.

John McLaren has opened for and shared the stage with well known acoustic players (Gareth Pearson and Ewan Dobson) plus received praise from many professionals in the guitar community.

A new self titled album is releasing on September 29th 2023.
