Billy Walton Band

These guys never fail to please me, I’ve seen them many times over the last decade with different lineups and this latest version is great. Billy is the guitar hero, never fails to nail a solo or two. The man is a genius and can get sounds out of it most couldn’t even imagine. Backed up by William on Bass and Laurence on drums who drive everything from the blues to disco ( they did a skit on disco which was brilliant) along with Eric Safka on keyboards who adds to the mood all over. The newest edition is Destinee Monroe who matches Billy’s star quality. She can sing, play guitar and percussion and dances too. She has enhanced the band with her talents. This time round there was no brass section which led to a rockier sound and mix. They played a set of their own songs and a couple of covers including a great version of Rhiannon fronted by Desiree, a total crowd pleaser. The show lasted over a couple of hours and as usual the band came out to say hi after the show which is a nice touch. Always worth the price of a ticket I love this band.
