Biographie de Gabe Parsons
Gabe Parsons (singer/songwriter) originally formed the Heartland at Loyola University New Orleans School of Music Industry program. The initial idea was for the group to be his backing band for live shows he was performing in and around New Orleans. Gabe had previously released two independent records under his own name and a collaborative album called Frisbee Nights. However as time went on and countless gigs added up, it became clear that original members Mike Tenreiro, (Producer, Guitarist, Bassist) and Will Weber, (Drums) were no longer just sidemen. They had created a well polished act built on Parsons emotionally intelligent folk rock songs. Together, they have played in several renown venues in their base of New Orleans including the Howlin’ Wolf and Toulouse Theater.
In the Summer of 22’ they hit the road for the first time playing shows in their home states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. The Heartland does not refer to a specific place, but rather a state of mind. Parsons began using the monicker to describe his childhood home of Hopewell Valley New Jersey. The songs are about the environmental crisis through the lens of a changing town, and growing older. Recently the band was considered as a finalist to open for Judah and the Lion at the House of Blues.
The Heartland delivers professional shows with songs that will have you leaning into the story, and leaving with them stuck in your head.
