Biographie de Gearheart

Formed by Joey Chavez Ferguson after developing a love for simple punk rock music. With friends Kevin Beckers & Pedro Galvez on bass, they played their first show in February 2013 & played a handful more throughout the year. Kevin Tran was recruited on drums in June 2014. With Kevin “Drummer” now a part of Gearheart, the lineup was complete & played everywhere they possibly could. In the summer of 2014 they went into a studio to record their debut album “Kick It Into Gear" which was released in April 2015. The track 'Kansas Bound' from the album was featured in Orange County Music League’s 2015 Summer Sampler CD. Signed to independent record label Wright Records in 2015, their 2nd LP titled "Dreamin'" was released on April 1st, 2016 to very positive reception due to the music expanding on their sound of straight up punk rock & incorporation of acoustics, harmonies & craftier songwriting to push the limits even further. In 2017 when Kevin Beckers decided his time with the band could no longer continue, Joey, Pedro, & Kevin "Drummer" decided to carry on as a 3 piece until Austin Myers joined the band for lead guitar duties in late 2018. Parting ways with Wright Records, they continued playing as many shows as possible averaging 4-6 shows a month. Ranging from tiny dark corners of a bar to full on venues like House of Blues & The Whisky A Go Go. They also established a monthly residency at a venue called “Perqs” in Huntington Beach, CA & appeared on a KROQ’s Locals Only session. After finishing their first U.S. Tour, put together completely on their own, production of a 3rd album began during 2019. The album "Lobotomized" was released September 1st, 2020 to high praise and positive reception with fan favorite songs like 'Don't Call', 'Wildflower', 'Avenger' & 'Rigor Mortis' appearing on the album. 2 singles, "Photograph of You" & a cover of The Mamas and the Papas' song "California Dreamin'" were released in 2023 & received more praise as well as becoming some of their most streamed music.
